GENESIS owed its success to City Medical Gynecology and its practitioners eager for continuing education. However, these “old fashioned gynecologists” are on the way out. The same goes for the liberal KOL (Key Opinion Leaders) whose big names have, through healthy emulation with hospital workers at the time, made French obstetrics and gynecology shine. The succession, very poorly prepared by our health authorities, was to be done by the arrival of "new version" interns from the classifying examination after the disappearance of the competition which, let us remember, was the method of recruitment for the medical worlds of hospitals. . However, these new interns, unlike the gynecologists of the past, are no longer trained by the faculty but by the hospital, whose city gynecology is not the cup of tea, and whose teachers are unfamiliar with field medical gynecology. These newly trained gynecologists are often specialists in obstetrics, surgery, oncology, colposcopy, PMA but not gynecology in general practice.

The public authorities have become aware of the void left by medical gynecologists and have reestablished a new version of medical gynecology formed by the new boarding school with quality training but in very insufficient numbers, 85 per year for the whole of France to compensate for the departure of their elders. General practitioners could take up the torch through IUDs but, overwhelmed, they are often reluctant to fill the void left by their older colleagues in medical gynecology. Midwives, called to the rescue, also have jobs already largely filled by obstetrics, thus their task as neo
gynecologist is confined to monitoring and prevention gynecology, without taking charge of pathologies. Admittedly, many academics have set up training (some liberals have also stuck to it and schools and congresses of midwives have not been left out.)

The objective of the GENESIS Congress is therefore to revitalize the initial and permanent training of all of these city and hospital practitioners, new formula medical gynecologists, obstetricians, general practitioners with a gynecological tendency, midwives, and why not endocrine gynecological trend. I see there the future of the congress.
