OVERVIEW

20th Annual American Psychosocial Oncology Society (APOS) Conference is organized by American Psychosocial Oncology Society (APOS) and will be held from Mar 15 - 17, 2023 at Portland Marriott Downtown Waterfront, Portland, Oregon, United States of America.

Description:
Conference Objectives: Re-Building meaningful connections through practice, advocacy, and research
The COVID-19 pandemic created a multitude of challenges for both our professional and patient community; however, these challenges have also allowed us to identify opportunities for growth and transformation.  Always ahead of the curve, APOS was founded on the belief that all individuals benefit from coming together to innovate and advance the field of psychosocial oncology through research, practice, training, and advocacy. This annual meeting seeks to emphasize and celebrate these relationships, coming together to share novel solutions for pushing the boundaries of cancer care delivery and practice.  Having been apart since 2020, we miss you and are excited to reunite in person once again!

The aim for the 2023 annual meeting is thus to reunite, in person, our professional community and grow our capacity to advance these objectives:
Training. Define training priorities for the field of psychosocial oncology that reflect the evolving landscape of cancer care and the diverse needs of our trainees, with a special focus on networking to facilitate meaningful relationships, professional growth and diversity.
Clinical Practice. Redefine the role of the psychosocial oncology clinician and the way we deliver cancer care, with a focus on building a community that is inclusive in practice. Of special interest is creating space, offering tools, and receiving mentorship around engaging in difficult conversations.
Research. Identify innovative models for extending the reach of psychosocial care to all impacted by cancer. Special emphasis will be placed on novel and sustainable digital health interventions with potential for wide implementation and the goal of ensuring equitable access to all patients, survivors and caregivers.
Advocacy. Translate scientific findings into opportunities for advocacy, fostering the diverse views and expertise of our membership.
