Ultrasound Guided Interventional Pain Management Procedures is organized by Empire Medical Training (EMT), Inc and will be held on Jun 12, 2022 at InterContinental New York Times Square, an IHG Hotel, New York City, New York, United States of America.
Target Audience:
This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of Health Care Practitioners involved in the care of the patients with medical requests.
Program Overview:
The Ultrasound Guided Interventional Pain Management Procedures seminar is a combination lecture and workshop where learners will participate in didactic lectures in the morning followed by hands on training in the afternoon. Learners will understand how to utilize MSK sonography for therapeutic injections as image guidance and diagnostic purposes for the evaluation of specific pain conditions. The purpose of the training is to help learners provide enhanced patient care to those who present themselves with various medical and pain management conditions. Target audience includes healthcare professionals for procedures which have not been taught in their previous medical education.
Learning Outcome:
To provide learners with a foundation for following correct standards of care and acquire the necessary technical skills to perform each of these procedures correctly and by adhering to published protocols and guidelines
Educational Objectives:
• Practice performing MSK ultrasound for joints (bursa) and soft tissues such as tendons and muscle. Each participant will understand and learn how to position the transducer to ensure proper placement of needle injection.
• Practice simulated procedures for the injection in soft tissues and joints (bursa) competently, safely, and effectively for their patient using sonography as image guidance for placement.
• Describe the limitations and clinical uses as well as mechanism of action for ultrasound sonography and its benefits to patients in an office setting. Identify various bone and soft tissue structures and characteristics associated with the diagnosis of inflamed soft tissue.
• Identify who will benefit from and a candidate diagnostically or therapeutically from image guidance, patient benefits over palpation for injection, and diagnostic interpretation of certain pain conditions using sonography to verify functional tests. Increase patient awareness and benefits associated with sonography for pain conditions and offer enhanced patient care in relation to this non-invasive, non-surgical procedure.
