Comprehensive care is a complex transition from single-tooth dentistry to comprehensive. This requires an in-depth understanding of the risks involved and the ability to effectively manage them. The comprehensive exam, which is the first patient interaction, focuses clinician and patient on those variables that are most likely to result in a predictable and exceptional outcome. To help you understand the most important diagnostic elements of the comprehensive examination, we will carefully examine it. This includes an in-depth look at patients' medical and dental history, how best to account for their expectations and agendas, intelligent use of radiographic and photographic documentation, periodontal, biomechanical, and functional presentations, as well as radiographic and photographic documentation. These key elements are crucial to your decision-making. They allow you to address immediate concerns and provide a long-term focus for predictable treatment outcomes.

To ensure long-term stability in restorative dentistry, it is important to understand and manage functional occlusion. Occlusal management must include a variety of factors, including force management, laboratory and articulator management, patient psychology, neurology, and pharmacology. Occlusion management can seem daunting given the many approaches and opinions within the dental profession.

Dr. Kois' philosophy on occlusal management combines a variety of concepts and scientifically-supported facts to provide predictable and repeatable results for simple and complex restorative cases.

Functional Occlusion will give you a practical understanding and help you use your office staff, laboratory technicians, innovative technology, and the dental articulator in order to manage occlusion. These methods are clinically proven, scientifically supported, and evidence-based.
