South Central Section of the American Urological Association (SCSAUA), Inc.101st Annual Meeting is organized by South Central Section of the American Urological Association (SCSAUA), Inc. and will be held from Sep 07 - 10, 2022 at Hotel Del Coronado, Curio Collection by Hilton, Coronado, California, United States of America.

Educational Needs:
PROSTATE CANCER
Nutrition in prostate cancer will focus on recent large scale clinical trials on nutrition in men with prostate cancer.
High risk prostate cancer will be discussed in a multidisciplinary debate between radiation and surgery by a urologist and radiation oncologist.  Urologists need to be aware of which patient factors influence one form of treatment over the other.
Single port vs. Multiport robotics: Urologists will learn a in a panel discussion format the perspective from an early adopter of single port robotic surgery with a large experience.  Will also cover what data is available on outcomes of single port robotic surgery after 3 years.  Finally, a private practice urologist will give their experience on bringing this technology into community hospitals.
Prostate focal therapy will focus on different types of focal therapy that urologists need to be aware of including risks and benefits of each.
BLADDER CANCER
Bladder preservation options will be provided that urologists need to know about and other types of treatment for muscle invasive bladder cancer other than radical cystectomy.
Prostate sparing radical robotic cystectomy -  Urologists need to view surgical video of experts in the field to learn about new techniques.
Managing BCG shortage and failures; Urologists need to be knowledgeable about alternatives to BCG when it is unavailable or the patient fails treatment or has recurrences after BCG therapy.
MALE RECONSTRUCTION BLOCK
Transgender surgery—Urologists need to view surgical video of experts in the field to learn about new techniques.
Trauma overview—presentation of trauma cases where Urologists can learn the nuances of managing these patients.
Genital trauma and cycling—Urologists need to be knowledgeable about urologic injuries resulting from cycling.
Update on pelvic fracture urethral injury—provide urologists with both sides of the controversy around management of pelvic fracture with urethral injury.  Urologists need to understand both options as well as risks and benefits of each.
TRANSITIONAL UROLOGY/PEDIATRICS
What is transition—session providing urologists about what transitional urology is and how it affects patient care.
Preparation for transition—session about preparing a patient to enter transition to adult urologic care.
BARRIERS TO TRANSITION—CHALLENGES TO PROVIDING TRANSITIONAL UROLOGY CARE TO PATIENTS.
Panel discussion focusing on different aspects of burnout and how to manage/prevent burnout from a personal, technological, and global standpoint.
Diversity/equity/inclusion--discussions on topics of diversity, equity and inclusion in urology led by a panel of experts.  Urologists need to know what challenges currently exist in these areas in urology. 
MEN'S HEALTH
Testosterone: what and why are urologist’s treating.  Discussion focusing on different reasons to treat low testosterone in men as well as appropriate ways to treat them.
Topics of ejaculation—town hall discussion of challenging disorders of ejaculation that men sometimes present to urologists.
BPH
Emerging BPH diagnostics—session on new technologies used in the diagnosis of enlarged prostate. 
Patient selection MIST vs. surgery—session on how to select patients for minimally invasive BPH treatments vs. More invasive surgery.
Laser enucleation/ablation with holmium and thulium—session will  focus on new laser technologies and outcomes for enucleation and ablation of the prostate with differing laser technologies.
AUA BPH GUIDELINES
Urologists need to be aware the new AUA guidelines are updated and use them to provide the best care.
AUA COURSE OF CHOICE
Presentation of prior AUA CME course on urolithiasis medical management and metabolic evaluation by a nationally known urologist specializing in stone disease.
KIDNEY CANCER
Cytoreductive nephrectomy post CARMENA.  Discussion on systemic therapy before or after nephrectomy in patients with metastatic renal cell carcinoma.  The session will focus on findings of the CARMENA clinical trial.
Management of upper tract disease without nephrourecterectomy—Discussion on alternatives to radical surgery in patients with upper tract urothelial carcinoma.
Surgical management of caval thrombus—Discussion on different surgical techniques for managing caval thrombus in kidney cancer.
FEMALE UROLOGY
Discussion on several aspects of female urology.
PROSTATE IMAGING UPDATE
Session on new forms of urologic imaging in prostate cancer given by an expert in prostate cancer imaging.  Urologists need to know about new technologies and when to order these tests.
DREADED CONSULTS
Discussion of different challenging consults with input from a panel of experts and questions from the audience.
STONES
Discussion on new technologies available for ureteroscopy by an expert in endourology.  Urologists need to understand what these new technologies are before trying to implement into their practice.  There will also be a debate about the advantages and disadvantages of mini-PCNL and PCNL by 2 urologists that have vast experience with these techniques.  Urologists need to know about new technologies for intraoperative imaging to decrease radiation exposure to patients and staff.
PRACTICE OF UROLOGY
Discussion of the important components of starting an advanced prostate cancer clinic in a practice from urologists that have successfully started such programs.
RESIDENT QUIZ BOWL AND T LEON HOWARD
Quiz bowl rapid fire format with moderator and teams of resident participants.  T Leon Howard is an audience participation case-based discussion of rare and unique urologic complaints.
ACADEMIC UROLOGY FORUM
Discussion on topics affecting resident education and recruiting and retaining faculty in academic institutions.  attended by program directors and chairs that need networking and guidance from successful mentors in this area.
