Description:
The 17th Biennial Conference of the OR ISFR, with the theme "Transdisciplinary Science to Address the unmet needs of the field of Fracture Repair" will encourage development and innovation within the area of repair for fractures with the focus on synergy and collaboration between basic scientists as well as clinicians. Researchers as well as clinicians, business partners, policymakers postdoctoral fellows, and graduate students will be attending the conference for discussions on the top issues regarding fracture repair and to explore radical solutions to these issues.
Sessions will concentrate on the most recent understanding of mechanobiology at the cellular scale to the patient and its function in bone healing and the commercial aspects of the development of devices and translating concepts from the bench to the market and customized regenerative therapies, as well as related modern technologies (i.e. organ-on-chips, therapeutics, and interplay in conjunction with immune systems).

The specific goals of the conference is to:
• Understand the current state and obstacles to translating the knowledge in mechanobiology to repair fractures.
• Present cutting-edge research in the field of the basic biology of repair for fractures.
• Gain a better understanding of individualized regenerative therapies for healing and repair of fractures.
• Encourage collaboration between clinicians and basic scientists to conduct research on outcomes and translational research.
• Offer career advancement and career development opportunities for a variety of researchers and trainees (postdoctoral or clinical graduate students) who are interested in bone healing.
