OVERVIEW

Microbes & RNA 2022: 6th Meeting on Regulating with RNA in Bacteria and Archaea is organized by The RNA Society, Prof. Dr. Kai Papenfort, Prof. Dr. Ruth Schmitz-Streit, Wade C. Winkler, Sarah Woodson and will be held from Jan 03 - 06, 2022 at Hilton St. Petersburg Bayfront, Saint Petersburg, Florida, United States of America.

Description:
Regulatory RNAs allow bacteria and archaea to respond to changes in their environment, and much more of their genome is transcribed than thought before. The 6th meeting in this conference series will convene an international community of researchers that investigate how microbes use RNA molecules to control gene expression.  Topics include cutting-edge advances in the discovery and evolution of new regulatory RNAs, RNA-protein networks, their roles in microbial pathogenesis, riboswitches and non-coding RNAs, RNA turnover and translation, and the RNA-based CRISPR immune system.

This meeting aims at bringing together researchers at all career stages with the goals of sharing new insights, establishing collaborations and cross-fertilization of ideas.  In addition to invited talks, a majority of oral presentations will be selected from submitted abstracts to ensure that the meeting encompasses the latest advances.

Scientific Topics:
• Cis-encoded base-pairing RNAs
• RNA localization
• RNAs in pathogenesis
• CRISPR-CAS
• Physiological roles of RNA-based regulation
• Bioinformatics of RNA molecules
• Signaling nucleotides
• Protein-binding RNAs
• RNA-binding proteins
• Riboswitches and RNA structure
• RNA processing and modification
• RNA therapeutics
• Synthetic biology of small RNAs and riboswitches

Additional details will be posted as soon as information is available.
