OVERVIEW

Law/Lewis Annual Lecture in Pediatric Dentistry – Pediatric Concerns in Sedation and Medical Emergencies is organized by University of Washington (UW) School of Dentistry and will be held on Apr 29, 2022 at The Mountaineers, Seattle, Washington, United States of America.

Target Audience:

This course is specifically designed for pediatric dentists, dentists and dental anesthesiologist, but other members of the dental team are also welcome to participate in this conference.

Course Description:
This one-day training will discuss the physiology of children who are likely to be seen in a paediatric dental office setting, as well as provide pertinent information to safely perform sedation and anaesthetic procedures. A discussion of the pediatric airway, dental practitioner cardiovascular issues, and comprehensive pharmacokinetics/dynamics of sedative drugs routinely used in paediatric sedation will be covered. The oration will conclude with a full examination of adverse events and their core causes, which will be applicable to any dental practitioner and staff.

• Recognize the physiological variations between adults and children.

• Take preventative measures to avoid sedation catastrophe

• Position monitors, equipment, and personnel for safety

• Keep relevant medications in your office in case of an emergency.

• Train your dental team to deal with unexpected situations.
