Description:
Internationally acclaimed Body Imager, Neil Rofsky, Professor and Chair of UT Southwestern's Department of Radiology and holder of the Effie and Wofford Cain Distinguished Chair of Diagnostic Imaging will serve as Scientific Director for Imaging in Dublin. Educational Objectives:
• Achieve better performance and interpretation of brain, breast, thoracic and abdominal imaging studies.
• Recognize the benefits and drawbacks of CT and MRI for various body systems and applications.
• Recognize the signs and symptoms of cancers and other injuries to the nervous system, breast, lungs, and intra-abdominal organs.
• Know how to perform and interpret CT and MRI scans of the brain, spine, bones, and joints.
• Describe the clinical reasons for emergency imaging of the chest, abdomen, and pelvis, as well as the best radiological strategy.
• Know how to perform and interpret mammography, ultrasonography, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the breasts.
• Describe the clinical indications and best radiological technique for emergency brain and spine imaging evaluations.
• Recognize the symptoms of malignancies and pelvic traumatic injuries.
