The Hospitalist and Emergency Procedures Course is organized by Hospital Procedures Consultants (HPC) and will be held on Oct 09, 2022, at InterContinental New Orleans, New Orleans, Louisiana, United States of America.
Course Description:
HPC offers the Hospitalist Procedures Live CME course to help clinicians perform the most common bedside procedures in the ER, ICU, and hospital wards. Our proven method has been used to train over 6,000 doctors and advanced practice providers in-hospital procedures. The didactics are taught online through 20 modules. Students then participate in a hands-on, one-day lab training with six instructors.
All students will have online access to 19 didactic modules. This includes all the lectures and procedural videos for our Hospitalist or Emergency Procedures course. All students will have online access to our strong>19 didactic modules/strong> that includes all the lectures and full-length procedural videos for our Hospitalist and Emergency Procedures course.
After completing the didactic modules, we will invite you to join us for a full day of simulation-based training ALL. This procedural day is 100% hands-on skills lab training with SIX INSTRUCTORS (6:1 student/faculty ratio). You'll receive personalized, hands-on training for landmark-guided or ultrasound-guided central-line placement, ultrasound-guided peripheral IV place, intraosseous line placement, and arterial line placement. Other options include: basic suturing and endotracheal and King tube airway positioning and laryngeal airway placement On-site training in bedside ultrasound will be done using paid models.

Objectives:
Through 100% hands-on training, students will be able to learn about the indications and contraindications of the 20 most commonly performed hospitalist procedures. Students will also learn to perform procedures such as procedural sedation, mechanical ventilation, and point-of-care ultrasound.

• Define the indications and contraindications of each procedure
• Determine the anatomy and correct positioning of each procedure
• Demonstrate the proper technique for each procedure
• List the most common complications for each procedure
• Use appropriate management strategies to deal with procedural problems
• Identify potential complications for each procedure
HPC COMPANY POLICIES REGARDING COURSE REFUNDS/CREDITS
COVID-19 PANDEMIC
1. Course Cancellation by HPC due to COVID-19 Pandemic
During the COVID-19 pandemic, HPC will follow guidance issued by local public health officials to conduct each course safely. HPC will comply with all local regulations and if local policy decisions require course cancellation, customers will be issued a full refund or credit toward a future course. If a refund is requested, progress through the HPC online course will be reviewed by HPC staff and the full credit will be reduced by an amount determined by the customer’s percentage of completion of the online course. Hospital Procedures Consultants is NOT responsible for any registrant travel or accommodation expenses.
2. Customers with COVID-19 infection immediately prior to course
Customers who have symptoms consistent with COVID-19 at the time of the course should have a COVID-19 PCR test and not attend the course. HPC will offer a 100% credit towards a future course (minus a $100 processing fee) with documentation on official letterhead from the customer’s employer, the customer’s department director or the hospital infection control officer that states the customer has a positive COVID test and is in quarantine.
3. Customers with recent COVID-19 symptoms who wish to attend the course
Customers who have had recent symptoms consistent with COVID-19 may only attend the course with documentation of a negative COVID PCR test within 72 hours of the first day of the course.
COURSE CANCELLATION POLICY
1. Cancellations 30 days or more prior to a course
Customers are entitled to a refund of the registration amount minus a $100 processing fee or 100% credit towards a future course.
2. Cancellations 15-29 days prior to a course
Customers are entitled to a 50% refund of the registration amount minus a $100 processing fee or a 75% credit towards a future course .
3. Cancellations 8-14 days prior to a course
Customers are entitled to a 25% refund of the registration amount minus a $100 processing fee or a 50% credit towards a future course .
4. Cancellations less than 7 days prior to a course
No refunds or credits will be given.
5. In the event of an emergency involving death or hospitalization of student or an immediate family member (accompanied by supporting documentation)
HPC will offer 100% credit towards a future course (minus a $100 processing fee) in the event of an emergency which includes the hospitalization of a student or death of an immediate family member (spouse or children only) during the week prior to a course. Any other illness or injury will be treated according to our standard cancellation policies. HPC does not provide credit or refunds because of natural disasters, weather-related problems or travel-related delays that are out of our control. To obtain future course credit, please email our company supporting documentation of the above-mentioned emergencies.
6. Cancellations must be made in writing and by phone
Cancellation can be made by email, fax, or direct mail and must be confirmed over the phone. If direct mail is used, the date the notice is received by the HPC staff determines the category of cancellation as above.
7. Cancellation of Courses
If HPC cancels a course, a full refund of the registration amount will be issued. Hospital Procedures Consultants is NOT responsible for any registrant travel or accommodation expenses.
8. Sold out courses
Hospital Procedures Consultants maintains a maximum capacity for our courses so that each participant has ample time for hands-on training. If courses are sold out, please notify our staff if you would like to be on the waiting list should a cancellation occur.
9. Hotel Room Reservations
Hospital Procedures Consultants has reserved a block of rooms at a discounted room rate at the host hotel for every course. Registrants are encouraged to call the host hotel early and mention that you are attending the Hospital Procedures Consultants course to receive your group discount. Please call to reserve your hotel room early since the room blocks fill up quickly, and after this point the hotel reverts to standard room rate charges. Refer to the specific course location page for hotel and room rate information.
10. Registration Confirmation
All registrants should receive a written notice by email once registration is paid in full. If you have not received a course confirmation by email within 24 hours, please check your spam folder. If the notice is not found, please contact our office by phone at 805-339-0225 or by email at custservice@hospitalprocedures.org to clarify your registration status.
