ESIR 2022: Reliability in Percutaneous Tumour Ablation is organized by the Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of Europe (CIRSE) and will be held from Dec 15 - 16, 2022 at UNI Klinik Chirurgie Haus 8, Innsbruck, Tyrol, Austria.
Who should attend?
The reliability in percutaneous tumor ablation clinical procedure training courses is led by well-respected experts. It gives experienced interventional radiologists an opportunity to sharpen their skills and learn about the current treatment options for this rare disease.
Description:
In recent years, minimally-invasive treatments for cancer have seen a significant rise and have even replaced open resection in some cases. Thermal ablation has been shown to be a highly effective treatment for many tumor entities at different anatomical locations. To achieve maximum reliability, interventional oncologists need to be well-trained in the use of various imaging techniques, image fusion tools, and tools available.
Professor Reto Bale will present an ESIR course that will provide attendees with an overview of current devices and techniques in percutaneous tumor ablation. This will enable them to plan, perform, and follow up on procedures. The theoretical introduction will be followed by hands-on workshops where trainees can test the various devices. Participants will also be able to see the capabilities of 3D guidance devices as well as image fusion tools. A stereotactic radiofrequency ablation live demonstration will also be presented. The experts will then present the most fascinating cases and have a discussion with the participants.
