Synopsis of Presentation:
This course will concentrate on new developments in oral pathology including, in particular, the use of monoclonal antibodies, immunohistochemistry, and genomic studies, including the use of multiple sequencing equipment which can simultaneously sequence up to 500 genetic variations for difficult diagnosis. The talks will concentrate on oral lesions which have traditionally been treated with surgery but may now be treated medically. These include the central giant cell granuloma and the odontogenic keratocyst. All instruction will be in the form of Clinico-Pathological Correlation (CPC) format with maximal audience participation.

Educational Objectives:
Upon completion of this course:
• the attendee will be aware of advances in oral pathology to include advanced staining techniques, utilizing antibodies, as well as immunohistochemistry.
• attendees will realize the value of genomic sequencing in those cases where the diagnosis of a lesion is difficult and they will be aware of advances in sequencing which enable multiple genetic variations to be examined simultaneously.
• attendees will be aware of those lesions which were previously treated surgically but can now be treated medically in many cases. These include the central giant cell granuloma and the odontogenic keratocyst.
• attendees will understand the relationship between different oral lesions, depending on immunohistochemical markers.

Additional details will be posted as soon as information is available.
