Course Description:
The mission of the Australasian Virology Society is to advance the field of virology in the Australasian region through promotion, encouragement, support, and advocacy. After ten years of existence under the name Australian Virology Group (AVG), established in 2001, the society was officially formed in 2011. The original purpose of the American Virological Society's (AVG) regular biennial meeting was to provide a national forum and opportunity for those with interests in human, animal, plant, or prokaryotic virology to meet and discuss a wide range of issues, ranging from basic molecular virology to ecology, disease, diagnosis, and control. The AVG meeting has since evolved into a national forum and opportunity for those interested in human, animal, plant, or prokaryotic virology to ecology. This meeting is now an established fixture on the calendar for virology in the Australasian region.
