Ophthalmologist Program:
• Create appropriate cataract surgery treatment plans (post-refractive irregular astigmatism, dry eyes disease, dry eyes)• Explore innovative topical, lens-based and corneal solutions to presbyopia correction, including patient selection for pseudophakic management
• Implement strategies to correct astigmatism surgically
• Calculate IOL power for challenging and routine cases
• Use strategies to manage glaucoma surgical patients
• Compare and contrast the latest advances in dry eyes disease
• The latest updates in corneal refractive surgical techniques, such as SMILE, corneal Inlays, and collagen crosslinking, will be discussed.
Skills Transfer Labs:
• Compare and contrast different ophthalmic surgical techniques using porcine or artificial eyes models for ocular conditions: to also include anterior segment surgery and refractive surgeries
• Learn how to deal with intraoperative complications that are reproduced in the laboratory setting.
• Form new skills through the use of advanced technologies
• Improve your proficiency and experience with a range of corneal surgery procedures and suturing techniques.
ASOA Practice Management Sessions:
• Discuss and identify current trends in employee retention and recruitment.
• Recognize the importance of career paths and professional development for practice managers
• Recognize benchmarking best practices and apply them to improve practice efficiency and profitability
• Develop a leadership mindset by identifying strategies.
