The ACLS Course includes a lot of content in limited duration, so it is essential to be prepared for the course ahead of time by studying the materials for the course. Basic knowledge of EKG, pharmacology, and Basic Life Support is necessary. This advanced course emphasizes the importance of high-performance team dynamics and communication, as well as systems of care, the recognition and intervention for cardiopulmonary arrest, post-cardiac cardiac arrest that is immediate and acute dysrhythmias stroke, and acute coronary syndromes. This course will teach you the knowledge and skills required to manage an event that could cause an arrest of the heart and the events that occur after an arrest of the heart. The central focus of this course is the assessment and management of the initial 10 minutes of an observed adult, adult ventricular fibrillation heart arrest. Other fundamental aspects of the curriculum are covered in the 10 core ACLS cases, which are as follows: respiratory arrest; pulseless ventricular/ventricular tachycardia (VF/VT) treated with an AED; VF/VT refractory to initial defibrillation; pulseless electrical activity; asystole; acute coronary syndromes; bradycardia; stable tachycardia; unstable tachycardia; acute ischemic stroke; and ROSC.
