5th European Platelet Network (EUPLAN) International Conference is organized by SMC Media Srl and will be held from Sep 28 - 30, 2022 at the University of Milan, Milan, Lombardia, Italy.

Description:
The EUPLAN meeting is held every two years in different European countries and aims to present new research, scientific discoveries, as well as the molecular basis for platelet diseases.

Innovative technological methods, such as microfluidic devices and imaging techniques, have made it possible to uncover fascinating aspects of the physiology and complex cellular interactions of platelets. This has allowed for the development of new therapeutic strategies. The main topics will cover platelet and COVID, inherited and immuno-thrombocytopenia, anti-platelet drugs, megakaryocyte biology, platelet signaling, atherothrombosis, and new technologies applied to the study of platelets.

The EUPLAN Initiative's Key Objectives: 

•  Translation of platelet genomics knowledge and proteomics knowledge into research on platelet function in relation to thrombosis.
• Identification and testing of anti-platelet drugs with high potential to prevent arterial embolism without side effects.
• Regulation of megakaryocytopoiesis/platelet production
• Identification of European platelet mutations and genes that may contribute to hemostasis.
• Validation and validation of system biology approaches to study platelet function.
• The development of new tests to assess platelet function and monitor platelet functionality during anti-thrombotic therapy.
• Integrated research to start clinical studies to evaluate new anti-platelet medications.
