OVERVIEW

56th Annual Baker Gordon Educational Symposium is organized by Baker Gordon Symposium and will be held from Feb 10 - 12, 2022 at Hyatt Regency Miami, Miami, Florida, United States of America.

Description:
Sometimes you need to lose what you take for granted to recognize the great fortune we have to practice plastic surgery. The pandemic and post pandemic years have redefined our perspective in many aspects of our lives. Though our day to day practices were thrown into chaos, recovery provides an opportunity to embrace the privilege of being physicians, offering quality aesthetic procedures which enhance the lives of our patients. Gratitude sharpens the requirement of redefining precision, enhancing results while limiting complications and morbidity. The theme for the 56th Baker Gordon Symposium on Cosmetic Surgery is Embracing a Rebirth – Aesthetic Refinements for a New Era.

This year’s Symposium provides an in-depth examination regarding technical alternatives and aesthetic precision in face lifting, cervical contouring, primary and secondary breast surgery, male and female body contour surgery and preservation concepts in closed and open rhinoplasty. An update on cosmetic medicine, including nonsurgical skin tightening, microneedling, nanofat, and the nuances of utilizing injectable fillers will be presented.

The Hallmark of the Baker Gordon Symposium is live surgery demonstrations. For the 56th Symposium, two demonstrations of Neck Lifting will be performed, illustrating alternatives in both Preplatysma vs Subplastysma Cervical Contouring. To emphasize long term results in mastopexy/augmentation, we have scheduled a live demonstration incorporating slow absorbing mesh to maintain shape. The technical advances in highdefinition liposuction will be demonstrated, as well as methods to safely combine this with gluteal augmentation. Preservation concepts in both closed and open rhinoplasty will be presented.

Embracing rebirth as we look to the future is enhanced by recognizing the historical perspective of our evolution and why we are where we are today. The Keynote Speaker for the 56th Baker Gordon Symposium is Dr. S. Anthony Wolfe, who will share his aesthetic refinements and lessons learned from Drs. Paul Tessier and D. Ralph Millard during his 45 years of preforming Craniofacial Surgery. The Historical Perspective of 56 years of Baker Gordon Live Surgery will also be presented, examining the results of live demonstrations from the pioneers in aesthetic surgery and the progression of techniques over the last half century.

While we recognize the difficulty in travel following the pandemic, we feel there is no substitute for a live meeting, which combines faculty didactics with attendee interaction. While virtual meetings have become a commonplace during the pandemic, the 56th Baker Gordon Symposium will only be offered live, to maximize the interchange and educational experience that can only occur in a live meeting.

We remain thankful for the opportunity to continue the tradition that Dr. Thomas J Baker started in 1967, combining lectures and live demonstrations from masters in the field of aesthetic surgery. We sincerely hope you will be able to travel to Miami to join us in what promises to be an exciting, and interactive educational experience. 56 Years of Excellence in Aesthetic Surgery Education.
