The 26th Annual Meeting of the European Association of Hospital Pharmacists (EAHP): Hospital pharmacists who change roles in a changing world are organized by the European Association of Hospital Pharmacists (EAHP) and will be held in Austria Center Vienna from March 23 to 25, 2022.

The EAHP Annual Congress in 2022 will provide a wealth of new scientific and practical information, allowing us to improve and expand our services for patients throughout Europe and beyond. Several disease groups, even those for which treatment options have been severely limited for decades, are seeing rapid advancements in therapeutic possibilities. These new treatment modalities have posed numerous issues for hospital pharmacists, and they are constantly modifying how pharmacy services are provided.

The hospital pharmacist must gain a better understanding of immunology, contamination control, the human genome, telephone legislation, and a great deal more. In addition to these novel therapeutic areas, our evolving competencies as frontline clinicians are driving a shift in the role of our profession. We are paving the way for the future of our profession as these "high tech" modalities combine with the irreplaceable touch of personal care.

In addition to the professional and methodological challenges, healthcare systems all over the world must find a way to harness these new possibilities within the limitations of resources. As a result of that rather complex issue, hospital pharmacists must also be deeply involved and involved as well. The scientific program at the Congress will undoubtedly help us all to confront these issues and to find rational solutions.

In the first keynote, we will discuss value-based healthcare as a way to keep healthcare affordable in the future. The second keynote lecture will focus on what really matters to patients, and the third will focus on cell and gene therapies. In the same vein as last year, we have linked more than 20 seminars and workshops, which have been opened for discussion with speakers, to different sections of the European Statements of Hospital Pharmacy. Cell and gene therapy, hospital collaborations, 3D printing of medical devices, bacteriophages in antimicrobial stewardship, and lean management are some of the hot topics. There will be three or four speakers presenting information during the seminars, and enough time will be provided for questions.

The framework of the EAHP Congress will be expanded to include a session on current pharmacological concerns. Best practises will be promoted by our abstract poster award nominees and through the Good Practice Initiatives in addition to keynotes and workshops (GPIs). In addition, workshops on evidence-based decision making, risk management, prescription cascades, patient-centered medication review, paediatric compounding, financing future healthcare, and managing tough situations will be held under the congress theme. The Synergy programme has been expanded and will continue with many pertinent subjects, based on the success of last year's congress.
