Description:
At the Summit on Cancer Health Disparities in 2022, leaders from across the spectrum of cancer care delivery will confer lectures, participate in panel discussions, and take part in debates. This conference will bring together oncology practitioners, researchers, and other stakeholders to address the causes that contribute to cancer health disparities, as well as strategies for overcoming their influence to improve cancer patient outcomes. This meeting will promote collaborative interdisciplinary contacts and partnerships, as well as the development of novel research and clinical practices, in order to eliminate cancer health disparities and enhance patient outcomes.
Objectives:
After participants have completed the activity, they will be able to:
• Learn about the drivers of cancer health disparities and review their impact on patients along cancer continuum.
• Explanation of financial and physical barriers, review strategies for navigating these factors to optimize management of cancer patients.
• Identify and implement evidence-based strategies to minimize the impact of specific drivers of inequity for patients with cancer.
• Identify challenges and develop innovative solutions to improve the participation of underrepresented communities in clinical trials.
