Learning Objectives
At the end of this activity, participants should be able to:
• Review research data and best practices specifying approaches and key components contributing to successful community reintegration after brain injury and assess how this information impacts their services and supports.
• Identify key components of evidence-based treatment of mild traumatic injury and review the relevant pathophysiological aspects of mild traumatic brain injury.
• Identify and examine various forms of treatment and services including an integrated approach to rehabilitation and school integration/reintegration.
• Review the incidence of comorbid cervical acceleration injury occurring with concussion/traumatic head/brain injury.
• Explain the challenges related to integrating novel technology into brain injury rehabilitation.
• Review the perspectives about pediatric acquired brain injury and its treatment.
• Review structural neuroimaging and arrive at cognitive and behavioral outcomes after pediatric TBI.
