2022 International Society of Nephrology (ISN) Frontiers Meeting in Infections and the Kidneys is organized by the International Society of Nephrology (ISN) and will be held from Sep 22 - 25, 2022 at JW Marriott Hotel New Delhi Aerocity, New Delhi, Delhi, India.
Description:
This year's Frontiers Meeting in New Delhi will focus on the bidirectional connection between kidney diseases and infections. Infections can lead to acute kidney damage (AKI) as well as chronic kidney diseases (CKD) via a variety of causes, while people who suffer from any kidney disease, particularly those on dialysis and recipients of kidney transplants are more likely for developing infections that negatively impact the long-term outcome. This was evident in the COVID-19 pandemic which demonstrated a high probability of dying in patients who suffered AKI because of COVID and the high vulnerability of dialysis patients as well as kidney transplant recipients.
The manifestations of the disease are based on the condition of the patient's health/immune defense mechanisms, the micro-organism, and a myriad of environmental and genetic causes. There are also significant geographical variations as well as infections continue to be a major factor in AKI or CKD in a variety of countries. This is especially true in areas with low resources in which accessibility to treatment and diagnosis is not always available.
More details will be added as soon as information becomes available.
