Southern Endodontic Study Group (SESG) 2021 Annual Meeting is organized by Southern Endodontic Study Group (SESG). This SESG 2021 medical CME will be held from Jun 17 - 19, 2021 at Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort, Orlando, Florida, United States of America.

Accreditation:
Dentists who attend all three courses will earn a total of 11.5 CEUs.

Description:
Anatomically Driven Endodontics/New Technologies/ Complex Cases (Thursday):
Te presentation will start with a brief endo/implant discussion followed by the discussion of complex anatomy and the latest in irrigation protocol. Successful endodontic treatment outcome is a healthy apical periodontium and long-term survival of the tooth. Tese objectives are achieved by meticulous disinfection of the root canal space, avoiding excessive removal of dentin, and optimal sealing of the root canal and coronal spaces.

Te 3-dimensional XP family of endodontic instruments has been modeled to achieve a fusion of technology and biology that integrates all variables essential for predictable endodontic success.

Te super elasticity and shape-memory of the alloy used in XP instruments facilitates expansion and adaptation into canal morphology where traditional round NiTi fles are unable to reach with any margin of safety. Tis enables maximal debridement and disinfection without changes to the original canal shape and ensures minimal removal of intracanal dentin. Tis ultra-conservative root treatment can then be flled using bioceramic technologies that do not require excessive preparation in the coronal component of the root canal space to accommodate obturation procedures.

Also to be discussed is diagnosis and treatment of cracked teeth and how the CBCT technology has revolutionized our ability to interpret things in 3 dimensions. Tere will be several complex cases shown and brief discussion about removal of separated instruments and other trouble shooting techniques.

• Comprehend the scientifcally based biologic requirements for endodontic success.
• Be cognizant and comfortable with the latest generation of technologies in endodontics to clinically obtain the essential biologic goals for success.
• Diagnose and treat complex cases.

Endodontic Microsurgery and Management of Complications (Friday/Saturday):
Performing apical surgery has become much more predictable due to the new technology in endodontics, involving the operating microscope, microsurgical instruments, the CBCT, as well as the latest generation of Bioceramic root end flling materials. Te lecture will cover all the major aspects of endodontic surgery, from case selection to armamentarium and show each step for performing successful apical surgery. We will show hemostatic agents and Bioceramics, which are the new generation of bio-compatible root end flling materials, as well as discussing important clinical tips like patient/microscope positioning and access to difcult areas, such as palatal surgery and surgery involving the sinuses. We will also discuss safe management of the mental nerve. Many clinical cases will be shown, utilizing these techniques, as well as a series of cases using various bone grafing and guided tissue membrane materials. Success rates/prognosis with current surgical techniques will be discussed, as well as the endodontic surgery versus implant dilemma.

Objectives:

Intentional Replantation (Saturday):
What was once considered a procedure of last resort can now be included into one’s everyday treatment planning in describing the new techniques versus the way replantations used to be performed, the goal of the lecture is for everyone to become confdent doing this procedure. Te importance of proper case selection will be discussed along with a stepby-step technique, ofering tips to success. Tere will be many clinical cases shown, proving this to be a predictable procedure. Saving our patient’s natural teeth should still be the goal of an dentist/endodontists.
