OVERVIEW

Radiation Protection Training Course is organized by The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, The Institute of Cancer Research (ICR) and will be held from April 19 - 23, 2021 at The Royal Marsden School, London, England, United Kingdom.

Description:
The course will present the theoretical background and training required for the radiological protection provisions of both ionizing and non-ionizing radiations used in hospitals.

The central four-day module includes the following subject areas: radiation risks, dosimetry, biological effects, instrumentation, legislation, transport, emergencies, and safe practice in the medical uses of ionising radiations.

As well as lectures, there will be small, informal workshop sessions which will provide for a range of interests. An optional fifth day will be run on radiation protection issues encompassing the medical use of non-ionizing radiations.

The symposium is at a level suitable for hospital physicists working in the field of radiation protection or those who want to increase their knowledge in this field. It is particularly suitable for those who wish to enhance Radiation Protection Advisers (RPA) and includes the Basic Underpinning Knowledge (Basic Syllabus) as set out in Annex 3 of the HSE statement on Radiation Protection Advisers.

Additional details will be posted as soon as information is available.
