Description:
In this one-day conference, we will explore action methods and creative techniques that can be used in individual and group psychotherapy. Leading experts in the fields of psychodrama psychotherapy, sociodrama and action methods from the UK and beyond will present tried-and-tested methods, experiential therapy exercises and basic psychodrama techniques that you can use and adapt to enhance your own practice.

Drawing on the legacy of Dr J L Moreno’s philosophy, theory and methods, the conference presenters will demonstrate how psychodrama, sociodrama and action methods can be integrated into clinical and community settings working with such issues as addiction, trauma, anxiety, bereavement, eating disorders, autism, family conflict, relational trauma, offending behaviour, psychosomatic issues and personality disorders and mental illness.

Psychodrama psychotherapy has demonstrated its effectiveness in a wide range of published studies, and the method has in recent years received increasing attention as a wellspring of resources and techniques for experiential, creative and active approaches to social and emotional healing and personal development. Psychodrama is practised by more than 10,000 practitioners around the world, in more than 90 countries, and continues to expand each year. Psychodrama psychotherapy is recognised and accredited by the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy, and psychodrama’s umbrella organisation is the British Psychodrama Association. This event will demonstrate how psychodrama can safely be used to create pathways to change.
