Description:
The number of children and adults at risk or currently suffering with a mental health condition, substance use disorder, or suicidal ideation are staggering. And while there are many reasons for optimism as advancements are made to address the physical impacts of Covid-19, the behavioral health impacts of the pandemic are likely to be felt for a long time.

Progress has been made – from both a policy and operational perspective - to expand access and coverage of behavioral health services, including the significant adoption of telebehavioral health and virtual care offerings. We’ve seen greater efforts to integrate behavioral health and primary care; we’re encouraged by innovations in whole-person care and value-based payment models in BH being developed; and applaud advancements being made in SUD treatment and recovery. Yet the need is still great, and more must be done.
