Course Overview:
Cynergex Group’s Management of Medical Emergencies in the Dental Practice course covers CPR, defibrillation, first aid specific to dental practice and advanced resuscitation and airway management (including oxygen therapy). This course teaches a team response in providing quick, effective and safe care to a patient suffering a life threatening or serious event in your practice.

This presentation covers the risks faced by dental professionals in their day-to-day work and some of the methodologies required to manage these risks so that the patient, practitioner and practice are protected

Learning Objectives:
The course provides the practice team with the confidence, knowledge and skills necessary to conduct effective clinical assessment of a range of medical conditions commonly encountered in dental practice.

Module 1
Crew resource management of CPR integrating Igel airway, ventilation, supplementary oxygen therapy, and defibrillation.

Module 2
Use of acute care drug kit in managing specific medical emergencies including acute coronary syndrome, cardiac arrest, stroke and anaphylaxis.

Module 3
Practical scenarios and how to manage the team (crew resource management).
