Introductory Short Course in Genomic and Molecular Pathology

The Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (RCPA) will organize the Introductory Short Course in Genomic and Molecular Pathology at The Westin Brisbane, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.

This conference will be held on November 26th, 27th and 28th of 2021.

Description:
As a result of ongoing technology advances, large portions of the human genome can be assessed at a time (“genomics”). The range of clinical decisions determined by genomic test results continues to expand rapidly.

This introductory course is being offered by the College as a response to the growing need for all pathologists to understand the practical applications of genomic and molecular technologies and the implications of these for their disciplines.

The course is suitable for both early stage trainees and Fellows from pathology sub-disciplines. It is assumed that participants will have little or no prior knowledge.

The course organisers, Janice Fletcher, Melanie Galea, Meg Wall, Sandra O’Toole, John Burnett and Melanie Wong have put together a program they hope will educate and stimulate. A bioinformatics workshop is planned as part of the course. Places will be limited, so it is advisable to register early.
