Description:
This course is designed to provide physical, occupational and speech therapists specializing in pediatrics advanced taping techniques and clinical problem-solving skills. Attendees will review theory and basic taping, wrapping and strapping techniques, learn advanced and combination taping techniques, and develop clinical reasoning skills. The course will also provide information on the use of compression orthotics, in conjunction with taping techniques for specific pediatric diagnoses and impairments.

Course Objectives:
Participants will:
• Review knowledge of basic taping, wrapping and strapping principles, as well as learn the properties of specific materials used to optimize alignment.
• Identify three specific muscle synergies and demonstrate combination taping techniques to facilitate muscle balance and alignment.
• Demonstrate four advanced taping techniques.
• Practice commonly used taping, wrapping, strapping techniques for specific diagnoses and impairments.
• Describe adjunctive treatment options for specific pediatric diagnoses.
• Participate in case studies, focusing on problem -solving to develop clinical observation skills.
