WAPMU 6th Annual Meeting and Workshops is organized by World Academy of Pain Medicine Ultrasonography (WAPMU) and will be held from Feb 15 - 16, 2020 at Hyatt Regency Coral Gables, Miami, Florida, United States of America.

Description:
The program is meticulously prepared by WAPMU Scientific Committee to highlight important subjects in ultrasonography and clinical aspects of chronic pain medicine. The program includes didactic presentations and hands-on cadaver workshop.

Track 1: Interventional Ultrasound in Pain Medicine: MSK, Spine and Nerves
Spine:
To improve knowledge of normal cervical, thoracic and lumbosacral spine and paraspinal anatomy, and to demonstrate and coach spine injection techniques:
Cervical medial branch block, Cervical selective nerve root block, Thoracic medial facet joint block, Lumbar medial branch/facet joint block, Subarachnoid injection, Caudal epidural injection, Sacroiliac joint injection. Radiofrequency ablation and cryoablation techniques with ultrasound guidance will be discussed as extracurricular topics
Neurosonology:
To improve knowledge of normal anatomy, to discuss and demonstrate common and uncommon sites of entrapment neuropathies, to discuss strategies for prevention of perioperative nerve injuries, to demonstrate practical nerve mapping technique, to coach injection techniques:
Cervical sympathetic trunk, Suprascapular nerve, Illonguinal/iliohypogastric nerve, Greater occipital nerve, Median nerve at wrist, Ulnar nerve at cubital canal, Intercostal nerve, Tibial nerve at tarsal canal, Pudendal nerve, Superior hypogastric block. Cryoablation techniques with ultrasound guidance will be discussed as extracurricular topics
Musculoskeletal:
Demonstrate and coach the following musculoskeletal injection techniques:
AC joint, Bicep tendon (peri), Glenohumeral Joint (any approach), Subdeltoid bursa, Medial or lateral epicondyle, injection/fenestration, Piriformis injection, Hip joint injection, Trochanteric bursa injection, Knee joint injection, Distal ITB peritendon injection, Tibiotalar joint injection
Preparation Course for CIPS - Certified Interventional Pain Sonologist Exam February 17, 2020
“The Review Course is designed to help with CIPS examination. Therefore, we expect more experienced attendees who have specific goals. Other techniques, including those that are not included into the syllabus, will be allowed for demonstration and practice when possible. Your instructor will let you know upfront how much time you have. In addition, you will have an opportunity to observe procedures done by the experts and peers and reflect on your own level of readiness for CIPS examination”
