Course Description:
During this workshop, clinicians will gain a blueprint of how intimacy issues arise within the veteran and military population. This seminar is designed to acquaint clinicians with the assessment and treatment options available for various issues that impact intimacy. Dr. Louis will share validated interventions for improving sexual frequency and satisfaction, addressing the effects of sexual abuse, enhancing chemistry, and dealing with the use of pornography. This seminar concludes with important information about discerning when it is necessary to make medical referrals, and to whom.
Learning Objectives:
• Recognize three of the four levels of sexual dysfunction.
• Identify the components found in an initial sexual assessment.
• Restate three techniques for improving intimacy.
• Analyze and explain two-three special issues that impact intimacy (cyber sex, social media, and infidelity).
• Determine when and how to make an external medical referral for sexual dysfunction.
