How to Fabricate a New Generation of Hybrid Dentures for Edentulous Patients (Lecture & "Hands-On" Workshop) is organized by LSU Health New Orleans Continuing Dental Education and will be held from Nov 13 - 14, 2020 at Louisiana State University School of Dentistry, New Orleans, Louisiana, United States of America.
Overview:
The overall objective of this course is to teach and train you how to fabricate a new generation of hybrid dentures for their edentulous patients that is long-lasting and more hygienic. To accomplish this overall objective, the course has two parts. Part One is a day of lectures at LSU followed by a half-day "hands-on" workshop in LSU's new state-of-the-art Simulation Lab. Part Two takes place after attendees return home and start using The LSU Online CDE Training Platform.
After using the online training platform to review and practice the fabrication techniques observed and learned during the course, attendees' self-confidence should increase, and you should be more likely to incorporate this new and more hygienic prosthesis into your practice. Each dentist will receive a FREE 90-day subscription to the online CDE training platform.
The Friday lectures cover the evidence-based information needed to make accurate diagnoses and treatment plans for edentulous patients. The Saturday morning "hands-on" simulation exercises provide the initial training necessary to supplement the lectures on how to start fabricating and providing these new hybrid dentures.
Learning Objectives:
After listening to the lectures and participating in the "hands-on" exercises, all attendees should:
• Recognize the need for a new generation of hybrid dentures that is long-lasting and more hygienic
• Comprehend the rationale for why edentulous patients need a more affordable prosthetic solution
• Explain and describe the techniques for converting an existing denture into a Conus prosthesis
• Appreciate the versatility and practicability of a system that utilizes different techniques that extend the longevity and maintainability of this unique prosthesis (e.g., night guards and sleep appliances)
• Understand the importance of utilizing immediate loading with this unique prosthesis, and
• Utilize all the educational tools required to start using this protocol
After utilizing The LSU Online CDE Training Platform for review and practice should, dentists should:
