• Assess CVD risks factors before and after KT, and identifying patients with persistent hypertension, vascular pathology, dyslipidemias, obesity and diabetes, is crucial.

Nurse Care Team Track--January 22-23, 2020

Description:
The Nurse Care Track is designed by nurses for nurses. The program attracts nurse experts across the continuum of nephrology nursing and it's purported with a mission to advance nephrology nursing practice, and positively influence outcomes in response to growing regulatory, safety and quality issues in nephrology.

The program promotes the professional and clinical role development of nephrology nurses through organized educational meetings that enhance learning, networking, and socialization for the purpose of improving CKD patient outcomes.

Objectives:
Upon the completion of this educational activity, learners should be better able to:
• Identify key nursing care needs and discuss critical issues with dialysis patients and their families.
• Identify key regulatory and compliance requirements in the care of CKD patients and their families.
• Support the learning needs of CKD nurses and care providers who care for CKD home patients across the spectrum.
• Identify key quality and safety standards in the care of CKD patients and their families.

Pediatric Nephrology Track--January 21, 2020

Description:
This annual pediatric nephrology course will build upon our experience of more than a decade long programs geared to improve the care of children with chronic or end-stage kidney disease. Our faculty are well-recognized members of this specialty who have conducted research in the areas of basic, clinical sciences and quality improvement. The carefully identified topics in this program represent a timely, state of the art subjects that the audience will use to guide practice.

In the 2020 program, we will have interactive presentations, discussions, and panels, allowing the audience to maximize learning opportunities. Furthermore, the ratio of faculty to attendees allows networking and provides opportunities for collaboration, that ultimately will translate into better care for children, adolescents and young adults with chronic and end-stage kidney disease.

Objectives:
Upon the completion of this educational activity, learners should be better able to:
• Identify treatment guidelines of metabolic bone disease
• Describe diagnosis and management strategies in the care of adolescents with chronic and end-stage kidney disease
• Describe the progression of CKD in the growing child
• Describe the new technology care strategies for the treatment of pediatric AKI
• Describe quality improvement strategies in the care of pediatric patients with CKD and ESKD
