OVERVIEW

2020 American Neurogastroenterology and Motility Society (ANMS) Annual Meeting is organized by American Neurogastroenterology and Motility Society (ANMS) and will be held from Aug 07 - 09, 2020 at Loews Philadelphia Hotel, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States of America.

Course Target Audience:
This program is intended for gastroenterologists in academic and clinical practice, gastroenterology fellows, nurses and nurse practitioners, physician assistants, technicians and medical assistants involved in adult and pediatric gastrointestinal motility testing, research, patient care, drug/device development, and other relevant stakeholders in the field of neurogastroenterology and motility.

Accreditation:
Ciné-Med designates this live activity for a maximum of 18.5 AMA PRA Category 1Credit(s)™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

This activity provides 18.5 contact hours for nurses.

Course Overview:
The goal of this course is to introduce participants to novel and innovative approaches in clinical management of motility and neurogastroenterology clinicians. Discussions will encompass the relevant pathophysiology of these disorders as well as new findings from cutting-edge research in order to clarify matters of ongoing debate in the motility community and to better understand how emergent clinical techniques may influence patient outcomes. Course attendees will receive practical demonstrations on established and emerging procedures that will facilitate a more standardized and up-to-date approach to management. Through case-based presentations as well as a review of consensus opinions and available national/ANMS practice guidelines, attendees will gain greater confidence in pursuing and interpreting relevant testing modalities and in recommending appropriate treatment modalities using a logical and evidence-based approach.

Highlights of the Postgraduate Course include:
• Live Video Demonstrations with patient participants to include hands-on demonstrations of the functional lumen imaging probe (FLIP) in the esophagus as well as pelvic floor physical therapy.
• Allied Health Professionals Session (concurrent session Friday morning) discussing esophageal and anorectal manometry, with special emphasis on motility testing in the pediatric population
• Other highlights for 2020 include point-counterpoint debates among leaders in the field; an interdisciplinary symposium addressing common comorbidities in motility patients; and updates on new and emerging treatment paradigms in neurogastroenterology.

Allied Health Professional Session:
Manometry: Interpretations and Pitfalls

• Understand how to perform and edit high-quality esophageal manometry study
• Begin to recognize parameters of diagnostic relevance to esophageal manometry
• Understand how to perform and edit high-quality anorectal manometry
• Begin to recognize parameters of diagnostic relevance in anorectal manometry
• Review normal manometry results as well as typical patterns of dysmotility via case studies

Pediatric Motility Testing
• Understand how motility testing tools and protocols can vary in a pediatric population
• Review how interpretive parameters may vary between pediatric and adult patients
• Gain familiarity with particular behavioral challenges faced by pediatric motility laboratories
• Learn strategies to complete technically successful motility studies in a pediatric population

Additional details will be posted as soon as information is available.
