2020 American Council of Academic Plastic Surgeons (ACAPS) Winter Retreat is organized by American Council of Academic Plastic Surgeons (ACAPS) and will be held from Feb 22 - 23, 2020 at Omni Austin Hotel Downtown, Austin, Texas, United States of America. This Conference has been approved for a maximum of 13.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.

Description:
The Conference will focus on topics aimed towards improving education in global health. Global health is a growing need that will direct the future of our surgical specialties, particularly in light of statistics that show a majority of the world’s population lacks access to proper surgical care. Therefore, the need to improve global access to surgical care must start with improving education of surgeons in the delivery of global health care. Plastic surgery is at the forefront of this effort, with the world’s largest charities for global surgery targeted towards cleft care. The ACAPS Winter Retreat focuses on exploring ways in which global health care can be better integrated into the plastic surgery curriculum, and how plastic surgeons from this region can extend their global health education to further the education of surgeons in low and middle income countries to meet the reconstructive needs of their patients.
