A functional blood vessel system requires dynamic coordination of vascular and non-vascular cells via a diverse array of cell signaling mechanisms; appreciation of these communication signals is crucial for the study of the healthy and diseased vasculature. The 2019 Vascular Cell Biology Gordon Research Seminar (GRS) will bring together dozens of emerging and established scientists in a two-day conference focused on frontiers in vascular cell signaling and communication. Designed to foster discussion and inspire scientific collaboration, this relaxed and informal meeting will highlight the innovative work of junior investigators alongside invited keynote talks by two senior vascular biology researchers. Attendees will be invited to consider new perspectives in vascular cell biology, as well as advanced technologies for studying the vasculature in health and disease including high-resolution microscopy, genome editing tools, and gene expression analyses among others. In addition, this year's GRS will feature a mentoring program that will enable attendees to interact directly with experts in grant writing, manuscript publication, career development, and biomedical startup capital.
