The World Institute of Pain (WIP) Annual Interventional Pain Conference and Workshop is organized by World Institute of Pain (WIP) and will be held from Feb 15 - 17, 2019 at Miami Anatomical Research Center (M.A.R.C), Doral, Florida, United States of America.
Conference Description ;
This meeting will feature cutting-edge didactic presentations by internationally-renowned experts in interventional pain medicine, as well as hands-on instruction in ultrasound- and fluoroscopy-guided interventional procedures. Lectures will be given in English, but simultaneous interpretation to Spanish will be available.
Conference Objectives:
• Understand the implications of radiation safety
• Describe the clinical consequences of disc pathology, and understand the indications for percutaneous disc decompression and annuloplasty
• Recognize cervical, thoracic, lumbar, and sacroiliac pathology
• Discuss the indications and selection of epidural steroid techniques
• Categorize the uses of sympathetic blocks
• Identify causes of orofacial pain
• Synthesize the indications for intrathecal pumps and spinal cord stimulators
• Compare the indications for fluoroscopy and ultrasound
• Prepare for and avoid complications
Participants will also receive hands-on training in the following procedures:
• Caudal epidural
• Cervical and lumbar DRG
• SI joint injections
• Cervical and lumbar facets
• Adhesiolysis
• Discography
• Thoracic, splanchnic, superior hypogastric sympathetic injections
• Vertebroplasty, kyphoplasty
• Intrathecal pumps and spinal cord stimulators
• U/S-Guided procedures
