WCTD2019 follows the success of its predecessors, and will continue to address the multitude of complex issues associated with clinical trials in diabetes.

You are invited and encouraged to contribute to the program by submitting ideas for sessions and submitting abstracts for oral and poster presentation; we look forward to your active involvement.

2018-2019 has been a triumphant year for diabetes clinical trials with leaps in our understanding of gains in outcomes and control of safety issues, both already driving indications in clinical practice.

But as ever in robust science this is driving more questions of importance, both clinical and methodological, and it is important to have for us all to address these and further our ability in optimal clinical decision making. WCTD2019 will continue that process with expert talks and considerable time allotted to discuss the issues.

The carefully chosen and renowned faculty will tackle issues head on through a comprehensive program which will include focus on key areas such as:
• Extending the indications to children
• Contributions from big data
• Bayesian thinking in clinical trials
• Clinical trial findings 2019; what have we learnt: indications and guidelines
• Clinical trials and the developing world
• Participant populations, selection and generalizability
• Technique reassessment and roles: clamps, CGM, hypoglycaemia
• Meal-time insulins: how rapid are we getting?

The scientific program will have a broad therapeutic focus and tackle both the global and specific regional differences. The program will include speakers such as physicians, methodologists, R&D personnel, regulatory decision makers, CEOs, CROs, CRAs, Clinical Trial Managers and QA personnel.
