Course Description:
This course will focus on duplex ultrasound scanning of the abdominal and lower extremity veins. Attendees will learn venous anatomy, physiology and pathology of the abdominal and lower extremity veins.
The format will be a mix of didactic lecture, hands on scanning, and real world case studies.
Course Objectives:
• Use correct abdominal venous nominclature.
• Use correct lower extremity venous nominclature.
• Identify abdominal venous anatomy on duplex ultrasound.
• Identify lower extremity venous anatomy on duplex ultrasound.
• Identify normal abdominal venous physiology patterns.
• Identify abnormal abdominal venous physiology patterns.
• Identify normal lower extremity venous physiology patterns.
• Identify abnormal lower extremity venous physiology patterns.
• Identify common and uncommon pathology of the abdominal venous system.
• Identify common and uncommon pathology of the lower extremity venous system.
