The target audience for this medical event is for practicing radiologists, neurologists and neurosurgeons who interpret or rely on imaging studies for the evaluation of neurological disorders. It will benefit physicians who clinically manage patients with neurological disorders and traumatic injuries to the central nervous system. Course Description :
This course is designed to provide a review of brain and spine imaging. It includes a practical review of neuroimaging and leads into more advanced imaging techniques used to diagnose and manage patients with neurological disorders. Emphasis is placed on the role of imaging in stroke, tumor detection, degenerative disease and trauma affecting the central nervous system. Discussions will include imaging pearls and tips on how to avoid pitfalls. The informal, intimate environment is designed to allow ample opportunity to ask questions and engage in discussion with the faculty.
The purpose of this program is to improve diagnostic skills in neuroradiology and expand clinical knowledge of conditions affecting the central nervous system.
Course Objectives are :
• Evaluate intracranial tumors, vascular abnormalities and spine disorders.
• Recognize image characteristics of common neurovascular disease processes.
• Utilize CTA and MRA in neuroradiology applications.
• Describe the evolving role of imaging in the management of neurological disorders.
• Incorporate functional imaging techniques in the diagnosis and management of neurological disease.
• Be familiar with diagnostic pitfalls in neuroimaging.
