Society of Thoracic Radiology: 2019 Annual Meeting and Postgraduate Course is organized by Society of Thoracic Radiology (STR) and will be held from Mar 24 - 27, 2019 at The Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort & Spa, Savannah, Georgia, United States of America.

The target audience for this medical event is cardiothoracic radiologists, diagnostic radiologists, pulmonary medicine specialists, cardiothoracic surgeons,and fellows and residents with an interest in cardiothoracic imaging. Because of the prevalence of diseases of the chest in the general population, the course will also be of value to internists and family physicians. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 25.50 AMA PRA Category 1Credits^TM.

This 4-day course features internationally recognized experts on the subjects of imaging of the lungs, heart, thoracic vasculature, mediastinum, and pleura.

Statement of need:
Radiologists and practitioners with an interest in the science and practice of cardiothoracic imaging need to acquire comprehensive knowledge of the diagnosis, imaging, and management of affected patients to achieve excellence in delivery of care

Course Objectives:
• Explain the role of imaging in the assessment of cardiac disease including diseases of the heart, coronary arteries, aorta and pulmonary arteries
• Recognize the role of imaging in screening and diagnosis of lung cancer
• Participate in a multidisciplinary approach to staging, and management of lung cancer and other thoracic neoplasms
• Apply the clinical and radiological evaluation and management of pulmonary nodules
• Describe emerging applications in radiography, ultrasound, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, molecular imaging in the evaluation and management of thoracic diseases
• Discuss the multidisciplinary approach to the diagnosis and management of diffuse lung diseases
• State current applications of quantitative imaging and possible future uses
• Identify new topics in thoracic imaging, including big data, radiomics, and texture analysis
