OVERVIEW

Sleep Medicine Mini-Residency is organized by UCLA School of Dentistry and will be held from Feb 01 - Jun 08, 2019 at UCLA School of Dentistry, Los Angeles, California, United States of America. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 60 CDE Credits.

There is a growing interest among the dental profession to learn how to treat patients with sleepdisordered breathing with oral appliances. The ability to have a continuum of education that will provide this opportunity in a structured fashion is not readily available at the present time. The UCLA mini-residency program is designed to offer a comprehensive experience for the practicing dentist that will connect the medical and dental aspects to this medical disorder. At the completion of the program, the dentist will be competently trained to provide care for these patients. The miniresidency will take place over five sessions (1 ½ days per month) for a five month period. The course will be comprised of Friday lectures on dental sleep medicine and a Saturday clinical handson experience that will culminate in the actual delivery, adjusting and modification of an oral appliance. The UCLA Sleep-mini Residency Program provides 60 hours of CE that is recognized by the AADSM (American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine) and will fulfill the AADSM requirements for continuing education hours (AADSM requires 50 hours). The applicant can go to the web site to view the AADSM requirements.
