Neonatal, Adult and Paediatric Safe Transfer and Retrieval (NAPSTaR) Course by ALSG 2019

Apr 24 - 25, 2019   |   Manchester, England  United Kingdom
Conference Brochure

Neonatal, Adult and Paediatric Safe Transfer and Retrieval (NAPSTaR) Course is organized by Advanced Life Support Group (ALSG) and will be held from Apr 24 - 25, 2019 at Advanced Life Support Group training center, Manchester, England, United Kingdom.

The target audience for this medical event is those from a medical, nursing, paramedic background. Before attending the NAPSTaR course, you must also have successfully completed an appropriate advanced life support course relevant to your specialty.

Conference Description:
All patients are vulnerable when it comes to transfer; and the time spent transferring presents increased risk to the patient in that it’s time not spent treating. Furthermore, the challenges posed in transferring are substantial, both clinical and non-clinical.

To minimise these risks and respond successfully to these challenges, the NAPSTaR course presents ACCEPT, a structured approach to neonatal, adult and paediatric transfers, and the knowledge of the processes involved in the transportation of the sick neonate, child or adult, emphasising the preparation required prior to transfer.

The ACCEPT methodology consists of the following: Assessment, Control, Communication,Evaluation, Preparation and Packaging and Transportation.

CPD Points System Revised guidance from the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges emphasises that the focus of CPD should be on its quality and reflection of its impact on a clinician’s practice, rather than the amount of time spent on the activity and that the responsibility for identifying CPD requirements rests with the individual and should be based on their personal areas of practice and personal development plan agreed at their annual appraisal. Although one 'CPD credit' will normally equate to one hour of educational activity, the amount of educational activity obtained from a specific event may vary between individuals depending on an individual’s specific learning outcomes.

Additional details will be posted as soon as they are available.
