Pre-Conference Workshops: October 2, 2019
Intended Audience:
Burn faculty, fellows, residents, ARNPs/PAs, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and Registered Nurses. This conference will provide additional information and updates for the current understanding of team formation & team dynamics, give an understanding of the opioid abuse epidemic, palliative care role in burn care and review current problems and practices on other burn related topics.
CME Credit Designation:
The University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 13.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™ Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
Conference Description:
This conference will feature posters and presentations for all burn care disciplines as well as highlight all aspects of pre-hospital, inpatient and outpatient burn care. The Midwest Region Burn Conference is endorsed by the American Burn Association (ABA) and is held in cooperation with the Midwest Region Burn Centers of the ABA. The theme of this year’s meeting is Team Building.
Educational Objectives:
• Apply evidenced-based strategies in the management of burn patients.
• Describe new trends in burn care.
• Discuss current burn care practices and how they can improve outcomes in burn patients.
