Massage and Rehabilitation Course is organized by DMC Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan (RIM) and will be held from Nov 09 - 10, 2019 at DMC Sports Medicine - Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan, Detroit, Michigan, United States of America.

Description:
The course will cover massage techniques that can be used to treat musculoskeletal, post surgical and chronic conditions related to neck, low back, hips, shoulders, and knees. ROM, stretching, and over the clothes and skin on skin techniques will be demonstrated. Lymphatic drainage techniques will also be demonstrated. This is a hands-on course so please be prepared to do the work, as well as receive work. There will be many situations where you will need to undress so the techniques can be performed effectively. Proper draping techniques will be utilized and taught. Attire: Comfortable clothing. Please bring a large bath towel, shorts, tank top/cami, (preferable no cross-backed sports bra as the high straps make it challenging to work the neck and shoulders).
Course Objectives:
• Identify body restrictions through simple assessment
• Using provided handout, perform general/specific techniques effective in releasing joint/muscular pain and tightness
• Perform general lymphatic drainage on an extremity
