○ Basic Competency Course in Laser Dentistry - Nov 13 - 14, 2019
Description: The Basic Competency Course in Laser Dentistry is a Prerequisite for All Dental Practitioners, Nurses and Allied Health Practitioners to Handling Any Kind of Laser Devices. It Provides a Basic Level of Education in Laser Usage and Includes Specific Device Instruction With Demonstrated Proficiency in Didactic and Hands-on Knowledge. Laser Safety is an Important Issue and All Those Who Are Involved in Laser Dentistry Must Be Equipped With the Knowledge of the Wavelengths, User Settings, Care and Maintenance of the Device. Further, International Bodies Governing Laser Safety Issues Require All Organizations Housing Laser Devices to Have a Certified Laser Safety Officer. This Course Provides All the Required Knowledge and Documentation for Laser Safety Officers. Apart From General Considerations in Laser Practice, Specific Uses of Lasers in Various Fields of Dentistry Will Be Discussed Along With Tips on Laser Practice Management.

Description: This 2-day course is specifically designed to address how aesthetic analysis can aid the restorative dentist to obtain a natural harmonious smile with a simplified approach. The course combines lectures, hands-on workshop, clinical videos and group discussion secessions. A practical approach using evidence-based dentistry will be applied to discuss specific restorative parameters as they relate to the aesthetic facial and dental analyses for predictable smile design. Various types of Aesthetic concepts will be covered including cosmetic orthodontics, teeth whitening, bonding and adhesion, indirect restorations and dental veneers using practical clinical examples. These treatment options will be discussed regarding their advantages, side effects, and success rates.

The course concentrates in clinical approaches that can aid the clinicians in day-to-day practice. Description: The aim of this course is to focus on the advantages of the use of magnification devices in Dentistry. Loops and Operative Microscope help the dentist for diagnostic examination, for better control of all the procedures and to follow up the clinical interventions. When using laser technology, the magnification devices help to observe the laser-tissue interaction, better controlling the effects of laser on tissues and so avoiding possible collateral thermal damage. The use of photo or video camera allows to review the operation, to control the work done, its results and to correct errors. Magnification plays a fundamental role in Dentistry, where precision, microinvasive approach and esthetics make the difference in improving the clinical results.
