Fundamentals of Healthcare Quality Improvement two-day workshop is organized by UC Davis Health System - Continuing Medical Education and will be held from May 15 - 16, 2019 at UC Davis Administrative Support Building (ASB), Sacramento, California, United States of America. This Conference has been approved for a maximum of 13 CME/CEU credits.
The target audience for this medical event is geared toward clinicians, health professions students, residents, fellows, and healthcare staff who want to learn about how to design and implement a quality improvement (QI) project or initiative.
Course Description :
This workshop is an introduction to key principles of QI and patient safety. Topics included are basic QI methods and tools, root cause analysis of adverse events, measuring and comparing quality, design and implementation of QI initiatives, managing change, and teamwork and communication.
Online access to required pre-workshop readings is provided in advance. Prior to the workshop, participants should identify a health care quality or patient safety issue that they want to improve. During the workshop, participants will actively apply the methods and tools taught, and design an actionable and feasible QI project.
