2019 Fall Meeting Fatigue: A Complex Diagnosis and Treatment Dilemma is organized by American Academy of Environmental Medicine (AAEM) and will be held from Oct 10 - 13, 2019 at The Galt House Hotel, A Trademark Collection Hotel by Wyndham, Louisville, Kentucky, United States of America.
Description:
Join the American Academy of Environmental Medicine for 5 days in Bourbon Country, which has been named one of the “Top 10 Travel Destinations in the United States” for 2018 by Lonely Planet. This year the Academy’s fall conference will cover Fatigue: A Complex Diagnosis and Treatment Dilemma. Don't miss this session which should provide you with the knowledge to help these often-desperate patients (The Walking Wounded).
These patients commonly receive prescriptions for their symptoms, but treatment results are frequently disappointing. Ineffective drugs fail to improve the patients' quality of life, while adding to their burden of illness and costs to the healthcare system.Almost 30 years ago, fatigue was responsible for at least 10 million U.S. physician office-visits per year. By 2005, nearly 1 million Canadians had been diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome or fibromyalgia. This vast and growing number of patients asks us for more effective solutions to relieve their suffering. Environmental and Integrative practitioners recognize the opportunity to apply their broader knowledge and reveal the diverse factors and mechanisms contributing to their patients' heretofore unresolved fatigue. These can include food, inhalant, and environmental-chemical sensitivities; neuro-immunological, hematological, toxicological, endocrine, microbiological and nutritional influences, as well as bio-energetic mechanisms.
The American Academy of Environmental Medicine's goal for this meeting is to provide an inclusive forum for the exchange and dissemination of knowledge about fatigue. We will educate practitioners to recognize the roles of environmental exposures in fatigued patients. We invite new insights based on valid studies and clinically-effective treatment options, emphasizing practical strategies that can be incorporated into clinical practice. Practitioners who utilize this innovative information in their practices should expect to obtain more effective treatment outcomes for their patients with these important conditions.
Additional details will be posted as soon as they are available.
