Accreditation:
This course provides for 1.6 CEUs. A post-course survey will be sent electronically to all registrants within one week after the course. The survey will contain a post-test and will assess course logistics and satisfaction. This information will help the academy meet educational standards and strategic objectives. A participant must complete the survey within one week to obtain an emailed PDF CEU certificate

Course Overview:
Mental health challenges, such as depression, anxiety, psychosis and substance use, are shockingly common in the United States. In fact, more than one in five American adults will experience a mental health problem in any given year. The need to begin a conversation about mental health challenges is necessary, and it can start with Mental Health First Aid. MHFA has been Identified on SAMHSA’s National Registry of Evidence-Based Programs and Practices and is available here in Michigan. The eight-hour course gives people the skills to help someone who is developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. Evidence behind the program demonstrates that it does build mental health literacy, helping the public to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illness.

Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, participants will:
• Apply knowledge of vestibular/oculomotor anatomy and physiology to the differential diagnosis of vestibular disorders.
• Use information obtained from a patient history to develop one or more working hypotheses for vestibular dysfunction.
• Identify/perform tests and measures used in the examination of a patient with vestibular pathology including examination of the vestibular and oculomotor systems and positional provocation tests.
• Establish an appropriate plan of care and prognosticate outcomes for individuals with vestibular dysfunction. 
• Interpret examination findings associated with patient cases.
• Recognize examination findings that are not consistent with disorders of the vestibular system and warrant physician/ specialist/medical referral.
