OVERVIEW

Evidence-Based Treatment of Tendinopathy is organized by Providence Health & Services and will be held on May 10, 2019 at Providence Laboratory at Saint Vincent Medical Center - East Pavilion, Portland, Oregon, United States of America.

Target Audience:
This course will benefit physical therapists, physical therapy assistants, occupational therapists, occupational therapy assistants and athletic trainers who treat tendinopathy.

Contact Hours:
This course will qualify for 7 contact hours for physical therapists, physical therapy assistants, occupational therapists, occupational therapy assistants and athletic trainers in Oregon.

Course Objectives:  
At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to:
• Understand how tendinopathy develops and tissue changes that can be present at different stages of tendinopathy
• Understand the stages of tendinopathy, treatment considerations for each stage, healing potential for each stage and timelines for recovery
• Learn and practice physical exam tests specific to tendinopathy, including load tests
• Learn the most effective treatment strategies and progressions for different types of tendinopathy, including similarities and differences for different body parts
• Be able to identify biopsychosocial complexity, learn how it can affect the rehabilitation of tendinopathy and discuss ways to address it effectively
• Discuss 1-3 cases of tendinopathy that you have personally treated, including patient presentation, how you made the diagnosis, what you did for treatment, how you assessed treatment effectiveness and the outcomes of each case
