Description
Critical thinking is an essential skill for task management and decision making in high-risk situations. The course explores how information analysis can improve quality of thinking, and discusses key principles and barriers to thinking critically. Coursework will also focus on how the application of critical thinking through the nursing process can help staff arrive at appropriate decisions.
Course Objectives
• Be able to define critical thinking.
• Gain knowledge and insight into analyzing, reasoning, and evaluating problems.
• Become knowledgeable about intellectual standards.
• Recognize the barriers to critical thinking.
• Gain knowledge about the application of critical thinking in nursing practice.
• Be able to discuss feeling, vision and examination models.
